How to Treat Warts

Treating Warts.... How To Get Rid of Common or Genital Warts

If you have ever had one, you know Warts are not an enjoyable experience! Common Warts, Planters Warts or Genital Warts can all be removed. There are many methods presently available.

Although many of these methods did not work for me, it is important to understand all these approaches, so you can know the best course of action to effectively remove your Warts once and for all!

Over The Counter Remedies....
Most of these products contain Salicylic Acid as the active ingredient. There are typically 2 types of products.... a bottle of concentrated salicylic acid, or in adhesive pads treated with salicylic acid.

This method requires a lot of work which includes constant cleaning of the area, applying the product, and removing the dead skin with an emery board. Unless you are loaded with patience, forget it! It can take 10 or more weeks to get rid of a wart.

Doctor Prescribed Remedies....
You can always go to a doctor and spend a small fortune using prescription medications.

These are some of the treatments a doctor might do:

    * Imiquimod, a topical cream that helps the body's immune system fight the wart virus by encouraging interferon production
    * Candida injections at the site of the wart, which also stimulate the body's immune system
    * Cryosurgery, which involves freezing the wart, after which the wart and surrounding dead skin falls off by itself.
    * Cryosurgery followed by surgically removing the infected spot.
    * Treatment with chemical compounds, containing salicylic acid, blistering agents, immune system modifiers, or Formaldehyde
    * Laser treatment

Even if you were to choose any of these expensive options, many times the wart will return and require additional treatments to be removed permanently.

Or you can just get rid of them naturally in the comfort of your own home, Click Here: Natural Wart Removal

Over The Counter Cryosurgery Kits....

Like the Doctor precribed methods, this will need to be repeated over and over to obtain desired results.

You also risk damage to healthy skin, as this method also can cause harm to healthy skin tissue in the process.

You don't need to use harsh chemicals in order to remove Warts of any type.

HouseHold Remedies....
Medical or Duct tape therapy involves placing the tape over the area for a period of one week at a time. This method obtains results similar to using products that contain salicylic acid.

I don't know about you, but walking around with a piece of duct tape on the back of my hand for a week is a bit over the top! Unless duct tape becomes a fashionable item to wear, this might not be the best way to remove warts.

The fact is, to rid yourself of Warts permanently requires killing the entire Wart. Most of these methods won't provide permanent results in one treatment.

Now that you have seen some of these treatments laid out for you, I'm sure you can imagine there must be a better way. There Is! You don't have to walk around with those embarrassing Warts anymore.

Genital Warts.... How to Get Rid of Genital Warts

Are you having to deal with outgrowths around your genital area? If you are experiencing some discomfort such as itching, then there is a good possibility these outgrowths may be genital warts. They are caused by viruses and there is no permanent cure.

However there is good news as a lot of progress has been made and there are more treatment options available presently.

90 percent of genital warts are caused by two types of human papilloma virus, HPV-6 and HPV-11. These are both low risk and not likely to lead to cancer.

Genital Warts occur in 70% of individuals who have had sex with a person who has genital warts. The HPV virus usually remains dormant for a few months to a few years before they surface. In most cases the signs will show up within 3 to 4 months of contact.
Genital Warts may cause some discomfort such as being itchy, but otherwise they are mostly painless. They are generally about 1mm in size but can group together and cover a larger area. These warts can be spread to the throat and mouth area through oral sex.

So how do you get rid of them?........ Good Question!

In some cases the warts will go away on their own if left untreated. However leaving them untreated is probably not the way to go. So what are some of the available treatments?

Herbal Products..... Oils that contain vitamin E are one method. Simply apply the oil over the warts and put some chopped garlic pieces over it. Then cover it up with adhesive tape. Even onion juice has been known to help cure genital warts.

Other Natural Treatments.....

Figs..... apply the milky juice to the area 2 to 3 times daily
Apple Cider Vinegar..... apply with a cotton swab
Beta-Carotene and Folic Acid..... Eat foods rich with these ingredients

Dr Prescribed Products.....

Imiquimod..... is a cream called Aldara. It helps strengthen the immune system and makes it fight the virus that causes the warts.

Podophyllin and podofilox..... from the botanical world, they help to destroy the wart tissue.

Trichloroacetic acid or TCA..... are common medicines prsecribed by the medical practitioners against genital warts. These are corrosive products and can have adverse affects on the skin.

Regardless of the method you choose, to be completely effective the product must remove the genital wart from the root.

For many who are having to suffer with the embarrassment of genital warts having the option to treat them from home is the most desirable way to go.
